David Rawlinson
Managing Director
David Rawlinson is the Managing Director and founder of Yacht Path Academy, bringing over twenty years of hands-on maritime experience and a lifelong passion for the sea. Having worked his way from deckhand to Captain on both private and commercial superyachts, David has gained extensive worldwide cruising experience and managed numerous shipyard refits and new build projects. Growing up in his family’s boatyard, he developed shipwright skills early on, later competing in the prestigious Mini Transat solo transatlantic race. Holding an MCA Master 3000gt, David combines technical expertise with real-world leadership. He founded Yacht Path Academy to bridge the gap between sea-going and shore-based careers—helping superyacht professionals and maritime staff successfully transition and advance within the industry.
Conrad Cockburn
Naval Architect & Chartered Engineer
Conrad Cockburn is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects with over thirty years of experience in the marine industry. Growing up in Cornwall, his connection to the sea began early, leading him to earn a Master’s in Ship Science and Naval Architecture from the University of Southampton. Over his career, Conrad has worked across large yachts, offshore renewables, oil and gas, and commercial vessels, managing complex newbuild and conversion projects. At Yacht Path Academy, he shares his extensive experience as our Superyacht Project Management expert, known for his practical approach, technical insight, and passion for delivering excellence on every project.
